Taipei, Taiwan, 2009 –Advantech, the global leading ePlatform service provider, has announced their decision to support the Moblin™ Operating System. The open-source Linux-based OS will help Advantech offer complete software solutions and new OS options to meet customer demands. As an important partner of Intel, Advantech will help develop Moblin™ solutions around the Intel® Atom™ platform. After Moblin v2 beta was released, Advantech successfully provided ready software solutions including their software API with fast boot function.
Advantech Software Solutions Faster boot-up speeds are a big demand from many manufacturers and Advantech has focused on a Fast boot function for many years. BIOS boot speeds have been enhanced a lot, and boot times can be reduced from anything up to mins, to 15 seconds* with a special BIOS enhancement and optimized Moblin™ OS. Now, new products can launch applications much quicker and service user better.
Advantech provides a unique software API to enable hardware device control. Functions such as Hardware Monitor, Watchdog, GPIO, and SMBus functions are ready for Intel® Atom™ based products. Now, developers are able to design their embedded devices more easily and spend more time on application development.
