Test drive the Moblin Garage!

Have you heard about the new place to find and download Moblin apps? It's called the Moblin Garage. You can check it out here, but basically, here's how it works: First, you download the free Moblin Application Installer, which runs on your netbook as a client. Then you use it to browse different categories of apps in the Moblin Garage -- and retrieve them right from there.

The Moblin.org project describes it as

The Moblin Garage is an online applications catalog that contains free/open source software applications released under a recognized open source license along with proprietary applications redistributed at no cost.

The available applications are installed through the use of the Moblin Application Installer. The Moblin Application Installer is a client application that is launched from the myzone panel on your Moblin netbook that provides a logically categorized list of applications that you can choose to install. The selection of applications that appear within the Moblin Application Installer come from the Moblin Garage.

Currently, the Moblin Garage is a very early release. There are just a few dozen apps there. Check it often… or, if you're a developer, add your own app to the garage.
